Media habits across three generations

Comparing media habits across generations is crucial for understanding how different cohorts interact with media. The elderly, middle, and young generations' media consumption patterns are compared in this master's thesis to give insight into the factors that shape these generations' behaviours. This study investigates differences in participation, content consumption, and platform choices through a secondary analysis of qualitative interviews conducted with participants from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The results emphasize how sociocultural circumstances, technological developments, and historical events have an impact on generational media preferences and habits. The study also investigates how political structures affect media access and availability. We may better comprehend generational dynamics and the complex interactions between socioeconomic conditions and power dynamics in shaping media habits thanks to the theoretical insights from this study. The practical applications of this research help media practitioners reach a variety of audiences in an effective manner through content production, marketing plans, and communication techniques. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union Relationshops

The object of this thesis is to study the historical reasons behind the establishment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union, using the context of the historical events and conditions that led to this as well to examine some of the milestones in their further development. The thesis also looks at organisations that are not so well known today but are significant to the historical background. An emphasis is put on the Cold War era where the principles of these developing organisations were to shape their future, and how both NATO and the EU reacted to the end of the bipolar world system. Cooperation between these two organisations is also examined, in regard to their mutual development and evolution, and future success in maintaining and broadening this partnership.

Ukrajina - atraktivní turistická destinace?

KONONOVA, M. Is Ukraine an attractive tourist destination? Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. This bachelor thesis deals with the attractiveness of tourism in Ukraine and its transformation in the context of historical events. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to compare the development of attendance in individual areas of Ukraine between 2000 and 2017 based on statistical data from tour operators and travel agencies. Two research hypotheses have been established to fulfill the main goal: 1. The Crimea annexation was marked by a decrease in the number of foreign tourists heading to Ukraine. 2. 2. The introduction of visa-free travel has increased the number of Ukrainian citizens traveling abroad. Using the literature search, basic approaches to the evaluation of tourism attendance were described. Subsequently, time series analysis, cartographic method and geometric interval method were applied in order to confirm or reject the hypothesis and to define the position of tourism in Ukraine. The practical part of bachelor thesis deals with the impact of historical events on the change in the number of tourists in individual regions of Ukraine. They are characterized by major tourist attractive destinations in each region. Then regions are divided into individual categories according to the visit rate of foreign tourists to confirm the first research hypothesis. The results of the analysis confirmed research hypothesis. The conclusion of this thesis is the characteristic of Ukraine as an attractive tourist destination, which has all the prerequisites for the development of tourism but is currently influenced by various negative impacts of political and historical events that have taken place and are currently in the territory of Ukraine. The creation of a choropleth map with relative numbers of foreign tourists in 2000 showed a considerable interest of foreign tourists in traveling in Ukraine and already in 2014, the number of foreign tourists dropped rapidly, which was influenced by historical events.

Historical events in the phraseology

This thesis deals with proverbs reflecting historical events and facts, which were reflected in folk literature. It tries to debunk a historical background idioms that have helped to shape the nation's memory. It focus on proverbs in Czech and Hungarian languages, which are closely connected with the history as being Central European nations. Historical background is mounted directly on the national territory (including historical area) or in the other state. The first part brings the reader a general overview of phraseology. Trying to explain the theme of phraseology. The second part focuses specifically on individual idioms. Each phrase is accompanied by a brief explanation to the reader to verify that it understands correctly and completely understands it. In the case of Hungarian idioms are translated into Czech. Follows the approach of historical events with regard to their relevance and impact on other events in the country. The conclusion summarizes the findings of historical events in an effort to highlight their importance and their motivation for stabilization in the form of phrases. Visual conception of a film adaptation of script Marek Epstein "Vlci a psi"

The practical part of thesis follows up the art processing of Mark Epsteins' screenplay Vlci a psi. The script is set in times after WW2, describing historical situation of the evacuation of Sudetenland Germans from previous Czechoslovakia in 1945.
The practical part itself shows visual concept and structure which is presented by drafts of decorations and scenes. The decorations are visualized by coloured perspective views, drafts of each building and schematic designs.
The teoretical part of the thesis is about analysis and parametres of stated films works that are very closely related to this issue and shows historical situation in film language. The visual part and its structure are shown in individual analysis.
Results of the teoretical part were one of the basis for definition and visualisation of the practical part of thesis. Last but not the least the study of historical links, documents and internet portals containing given topic were another important teoretical source.
These results of my thesis can be used as a source of interesting informations for a public, as an inpiration for film productions or as a study material for film
students.

Křemže Village and Parish in the Years 1885 - 1920

This work deals with life and villages in the parish Křemže in the period 1885 to 1920. Home work contains a brief description of the emergence of villages and parishes of the first references in the historical annals, after the year 1885. Another reference to time zone are the years 1885 - 1905 from the perspective of life in the parish and Křemže of sacral buildings in this period. At the same time a separate chapter in the life and community events and intrusions Křemže parish and village life. The following chapter handles the period before the World War II, the years 1911 to 1914. Here is a breakdown done in terms of parish and community Křemže own view, and again the common life away. A separate chapter is devoted to the first veto war. Emphasis here is placed on the description of life in the village itself and the difficulties and War on the territory of the parish. The final chapter contains a description of a new independent Republic and its impact on the ethnic and political. It describes also describe trends and developments in the territory of the Catholic Church parish Křemže from 1919 - 1920.
